Biostasis Response Tub

medical device mechanical design concept development

Overview

I was contracted to design a tub to be mounted atop a stretcher to transport patients during rapid-response cryogenic procedures.

Technical Details

This project involved the 3D modeling of a welded aluminum structure that needs to contain the patient, water and ice. I created manufactuing drawings from my 3D model to specify the dimensions and tolerances of the parts for welding. A welded bung with a valve was included in the design to facilitate draining and cleaning after procedures.
